Born: 31 December 1954

He was born in Shail village of Singra police station in Natore district. Farida Parveen's father, the late Delwar Hossain, was a general practitioner. Mother Raufa Begum. Farida Parveen's husband is renowned lyricist and vocalist Abu Jafar. Farida Parveen is the mother of four children. One daughter Jihan Faria and three sons Imam Nimeri Upal the eldest, Imam Nahil Sumon the eldest son and Imam Nomani Rabbi the youngest son.

Farida Parveen has spent her school life in different cities. However, his school life started in Magura. Then she studied in Kushtia Government Girls School, Mir Mosharraf Hossain Girls School in Kushtia and Meherpur Government Girls School. She passed matriculation from Mir Mosharraf Hossain Girls School. After that he studied in Kushtia in college life. In 1984, she did her HSC from Kushtia Girls College. He passed and passed Honors from the same college under Rajshahi University in 1968-69.

While in Kushtia, he won the National Film Award in 1993 for singing the song 'Nindar Kanta' in the Ekushey Padak and Ananta Prem films of the Government of Bangladesh in 1986 in recognition of his special contribution to Lalon music.

Apart from this, he won the National Film Award in 1993 as the best musician for his performance in the full-length Bengali film 'Andha Prem'.

He has performed Lalon music in many countries including Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Australia, America, and England.
